World’s 1st mountaintop impression crater found in northeastern China



An almost mile-wide (1.6 kilometer) divot in a Chinese language mountaintop is definitely an impression crater from a long-ago meteorite touchdown.

The newly found crater, positioned in northeastern China not removed from the North Korean border, is the primary confirmed mountaintop crater on Earth. Researchers aren’t positive when the impression occurred, but it surely left a round despair and break up the mountaintop into two peaks, referred to as Entrance Baijifeng and Rear Baijifeng.
