With 608 pages and round 900 pictures, it makes an attempt to be an intensive, up-to-date account, of the pure and launched reptile species on this biodiversity hotspot. The reptiles are a dominant part of the pure terrestrial vertebrate fauna. For instance, there are nearly thrice extra native terrestrial reptile species than passerine birds, and in contrast to the birds these are overwhelmingly endemic to the Lesser Antilles.
