Oklahoma Metropolis Zoo is thrilled to announce the current delivery of a uncommon clouded leopard kitten. Following an roughly 90-day gestation interval, the OKC Zoo’s feminine clouded leopard, Rukai, gave delivery to a male kitten on Tuesday, July 18, on the Zoo’s Cat Forest habitat.

The OKC Zoo is a proud participant within the Affiliation of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA's) Species Survival Plan® (SSP) for clouded leopards. As a result of that is such a major delivery and the primary delivery of 2023 for this weak species, the SSP beneficial the Zoo’s animal care specialists hand-rear the kitten to make sure he thrives. Instantly following the kitten’s delivery, the Zoo’s carnivore caretakers stepped in and commenced offering round the clock take care of this little cloudie.

Caretakers report the kitten is wholesome and doing all the pieces a new child needs to be doing – consuming, sleeping and rising!
